Why this Aegean bay is becoming one of Europe's most talked-about wingfoil destinations — and how to make the most of it.
New Golden Beach, Paros — the Aegean's most consistent wingfoil spot.
You've probably seen the videos — someone gliding silently above flat, turquoise water, a small wing in their hands, barely touching the surface. That's wingfoiling. And if you're wondering where in Greece to try it, there's one answer that keeps coming up: New Golden Beach on Paros.
We've been based on this beach for over 30 years. In that time, we've watched windsurfing evolve and wingfoiling transform what's possible on the water. This guide covers everything you need to know — the spot, the wind, what it feels like to learn, and what to expect when you arrive.
Wingfoiling (also called wing foiling or wing surfing) combines three elements: a hand-held inflatable wing, a board, and a hydrofoil mounted under the board. As the wind fills your wing, it pulls you forward. Once you reach enough speed, the hydrofoil lifts the board clean out of the water — and you're flying above the surface, almost in silence.
It sounds technical, and in some ways it is. But it's also one of the most accessible wind sports to start. You don't need a windsurfing background. You don't need to be particularly strong. With the right instruction and the right conditions, complete beginners are getting their first flights within a few hours on the water.
✓ No experience needed. Our wingfoil courses start from absolute beginner — no windsurfing, surfing, or kitesurfing background required.
The view from the wing — crystal-clear Aegean water and New Golden Beach behind you.
New Golden Beach (Tserdakia) sits on the southeast coast of Paros, facing directly into the Meltemi — the powerful, reliable northerly wind that sweeps through the Aegean every summer. Paros sees over 320 windy days a year, and the Meltemi blows consistently from June through September, typically building through the afternoon and settling in the evening.
For wingfoiling, this consistency is everything. You're not waiting around hoping for wind. You arrive, it's there, you ride.
Before you go anywhere near the water, you'll get a proper briefing on the beach. Wind awareness, how to handle the wing safely, what to do if you fall, how to self-rescue. This isn't formality — it's the foundation that makes everything easier once you're in the water.
Then something happens that we're genuinely proud of, and that no other center on the island offers: a personal GPS tracker before entering the water.
Our safety Zodiac on the water — always close, always watching.
📡 Personal GPS tracker for every rider · Real-time monitoring from shore · Two safety Zodiacs on the water · Certified, experienced instructors · Full safety briefing before every session
Our team monitors your position in real time from the shore. Two patrol Zodiacs are on the water throughout every session. If anything goes wrong — equipment failure, tiredness, unexpected wind shift — help is seconds away, not minutes.
Getting comfortable on the foil board — safety Zodiac always within reach.
The first lesson starts on a normal board — no foil yet. You spend the hour getting used to the wing: how it pulls, how to depower it, how to balance while it's generating force. Most beginners are riding downwind comfortably by the end of the first hour.
Once you feel comfortable managing the wing and finding your balance, the foil comes in. That first moment the board lifts out of the water — even just for a second — is one of those experiences you'll remember clearly. From there, it's about building consistency: longer flights, better direction control, learning to turn.
We run structured courses for every level, using premium RRD equipment including Aluula wings — the same high-performance gear used by advanced riders worldwide.
